Neoprene is not an end product but a soft and foam raw material. That is why its properties may slightly vary depending on the final chemical composition of an item. For example, neoprene used for making immersion suits and slimming belts is water proof and heat insulating. At the same time recently the industry has launched production of modified neoprene with tiny pores to let the oxygen in. In any case it is very important to select the right type of neoprene meeting your demands. It should be noted that developments in this field are progressing. Famous immersion suits of neoprene has become much more elastic recently thanks to addition of spandex (models “Super-Flex”). However there are special types of suit for every water sport. For example, an immersion suit for diving is thicker and less flexible while a suit for swimming in the pool is made of foam rubber and is very flexible.

Neoprene is absolutely harmless to health, but certain precautions shall be observed when it is processed. Any production related to this material shall be arranged in compliance with safety requirements and occupational hygiene. Besides, precautions shall be followed while working with neoprene adhesives. It is especially relevant for operators with sensitive skin. Minimum percent of people are allergic to neoprene; in most cases it causes no inconveniences.

Neoprene fabric mainly applied in the goods of general use is produced by enterprises as black or grey material. It can be in rolls or in sheets of 0.5 – 10 mm thickness. Neoprene can be painted and decorated with various patterns and prints. Besides, there are subtypes with oxygen transmission properties which allow skin to “breathe”.

So this is a unique multi-purpose material, which can be applied for production of an extremely wide range of items.
